How far can you go with your horse?

Are you aiming high enough?

Now I'm not talking about competition here specifically, although enhanced horsemanship and horse behavior couldn't possibly hurt that, could it? But, I am talking about aiming higher as far as your expectations from both you and your horse as to what your experience together is going to go like.

Are you a 'gonna be' or a 'wanna be' horse person?

Many acts of disrespect from the horse go completely ignored by the people and then their story turns into an "... and all of a sudden ____". Not so. Like someone lighting a match. That's a little, tiny flame and yet ignored, it turns into a forest fire. Horse lights the match, person ignores it "...and all of a sudden ___". This doesn't mean your horse is bad, just a horse and better equipped than you to handle the situation.

Maybe you're simply stuck. You're working on getting your horse to do something, it's going okay or maybe you've been working on it for months instead of minutes. If you and your horse are physically capable of accomplishing the movement, then it's probably a

mind game, true or true? And if it's not happening for you, then I guess your horse is winning the game. Worst of all... you don't know what to do differently.

There's a way to being with your horse is fun and fascinating. It's simple although it's not exactly easy because it takes committment. Your horse will be okay with doing what you ask and you'll get the results and enjoyment you so desire.
